A gently paced ballet class for people over 65 who wish to explore the basics of classical ballet in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. No previous dance experience is required.
The classes focus on maintaining mobility, balance, and body control, as well as improving muscular strength through the movement language of ballet. All exercises are performed while listening to and respecting one’s own body.
We practice basic ballet positions, steps, and learn small choreographies. Center work is adapted according to the group’s wishes and participants’ functional ability.
The content and pace of the class can be adjusted together with the group. The aim is to find joy in movement, develop balance and mobility, and enjoy music and the aesthetics of ballet in a safe environment.
